It just hit me that tomorrow will be two years without Rick Rypien. I’m not a Canucks fan by any means, but it doesn’t make it hurt any less that we lost such a fighter. And the way he left us doesn’t make him any less strong. You played through so much and you battled all the way to the very end. Two years without you Rick and we still smile at the memories of you lighting up the ice. Two years have gone, but you haven’t left us. I know you’re up there in hockey heaven with Luc watching your boys playing and tearing up the ice, chirping Kevin, and watching as Luc catches Burrows’ arrows. Knowing that you’re finally safe and happy takes away some of the sting. It’s just hard to think that you would’ve been 29 this year. I hope you’re enjoying the smooth, endless ice up there and taking on an opponent worthy of a good scrap: it’s what you loved the most.
Take care of Jordan. He’s a newbie up there, but I know you’ll help him fit right in.
Rest In Peace
